They will delight you with their classic pointed Roma shape, and texture perfect for tomato paste and stuffing. Mountain Roma was originally bred in Montana from the early Heinz tomato varieties. They are also disease resistant.

Planting Instructions: Start Mt Roma Tomato seeds indoors under grow lights or in a greenhouse 6-10 weeks before last frost. Transplant 2+ weeks after last frost when soil has warmed a bit. Space plants at least 4 feet apart. Support growth with tomato cages, a trellis or wire. Water regularly but avoid overwatering (soil should be moist but not wet).

Seed Saving Instructions: When fully ripe, pick your tastiest fruits from the most vigorous plants. Cut open and squeeze Mt Roma Tomato seeds and juice into a jar. Secure a cloth over the jar so air can enter. Ferment the juice and seeds in the jar for 2-3 days. Then strain and rinse the seeds. Dry on a screen or cloth. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.
