Ipomoea purpurea
Our favorite flowers! Grandpa Ott's classic purple flower with glowing white interior, with some surprising occasional dark pink blossoms. Vines grow 12+ feet tall! Enjoy continuous blossoms each morning. Flowers often last until the fall frost.
Planting Instructions: For optimal germination: Scarify (scrape) seeds gently with a nail file or sandpaper until inner light color just starts to show. Sow outdoors in spring after last frost. Plant in east-facing full sun for full flowering beauty! Over-watering will encourage vegetative growth instead of flowering. Flowers can also be grown indoors even in winter, in a window up a string.
Seed Saving Instructions: Seed pods will dry and turn brown. Collect seed when it easily crumbles into your hand. Store in a cool, dark and dry place.
