Marrubium vulgare

Days to Maturity: 80 days for medicinal leaves; flowers in 2nd year

A perennial wild medicinal flower in the mint family, horehound is a potent immune booster and expectorant. Its extremely bitter taste is a good indicator of its liver-cleansing and digestion-boosting properties. Horehound is a good cough medicine for pushing lung gunk up and out. It has fuzzy leaves and flowers that attract bees. Once established in your garden it will be a perennial source of medicine.

Planting Instructions: Plant 1/4" deep in spring (3 weeks before last frost), 6" apart. Keep moist until germinated. Or start indoors 6 weeks before last frost and transplant outside after frost.

Seed Saving Instructions: Crumble Horehound seeds when fully mature and dry. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.
