Days to Maturity: 120-140 (plant in late April to mid-May)
Gorgeous rainbow native flour/grinding corn. A landrace of many native corns bred together over 10+ years: Hopi blue, Millenium, Oaxacan green dent, Oaxacan blue, Hopi pink, Navajo Robin's Egg and more. Plant and enjoy harvesting a new rainbow in each ear!
This native flour corn is a grinding/masa corn for making tortillas, tamales, stews and more. Boil with lime for 1-2 hours to nixtamalize and then grind into masa using a food processor, blender or grain mill. Or simply boil whole nixtamalized kernels into hearty stews. Also a beautiful ornamental and ceremonial corn.
Planting Instructions: Plant corn seeds 6" deep in late April-mid May in clumps of 5 seeds per hole, spaced 3-5 feet apart. No thinning is necessary.
Seed Saving Instructions: Pick corn cobs when fingernail does not dent kernels, as leaves are browning. Shuck cobs (remove leaves) and allow kernels to dry fully on the cob. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.
Approx 50 Rainbow Corn seeds per packet
