$4.95

Cucurbita pepo

Days to Maturity: 65

Check out all these wonderful patterns, shapes and sizes! These squash represent one of our successful long-term breeding projects, now in its 5th generation (F5). We crossed a Hopi Yellow Crookneck with a Dark Star Zucchini to create a dual purpose Summer-Winter squash AND produce a diversity of wonderful patterns. These squash may be eaten when young and tender as a summer squash; or allow skin to harden up as they grow large and eat as a winter squash. The largest fruits will develop hard skin and store for up to a year! Mild flavor.

Easy and satisfying to grow. Drought Tolerant to boot!

Planting Instructions: Sow squash seeds directly in the ground after all danger of frost has passed & soil has warmed a bit. Plant 2-3" deep, 2 feet apart.

Seed Saving Instructions: Allow squash to grow as large as possible. Harvest before frost. Cut open squash and lay seeds out to dry on a screen or cloth. You may rinse them in a strainer if needed. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.
