Cucumis melo var. cantalupensis
Days to Maturity: 80-90
This melon is a cross of our Hopi Origin Titus Cantaloupe with Green Nutmeg Melon. We wanted the low-water and desert-adapted traits of Titus with the added sweetness of Green Nutmeg. This is not a stabilized cross so there will be variability in size, taste, texture and so on-- save seeds from your favorites to plant next year, and take part in the evolution of your local ecosystem.
Planting Instructions: Start cantaloupe seeds indoors 3-5 weeks before last spring frost and transplant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed. Or sow directly in the ground in well-draining rows with seeds spaced 12" apart. Do not overwater.
Seed Saving Instructions: Choose fully ripe, tasty fruits for seed saving. Dry seeds on a screen or cloth. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.
Approx 20 Hopi Titus x Green Nutmeg Cantaloupe seeds per packet
