Lactuca sativa
Days to Maturity: 40-60
Our all-time favorite lettuce! Adapted to the Colorado Rocky Front Range & Southwestern Colorado for the past decade. Hardy, crispy, and amusingly spotted looseleaf. Selected for drought, heat and cold tolerance. Originally from John Navazio's seed stock. This tried-and-true lettuce can't be beat.
Planting Instructions: Sow outdoors in early spring or late summer/early fall, or summer in shade, every 3 weeks. Keep evenly moist until germinated.
Seed Saving Instructions: Allow most vigorous and tastiest plants to bolt & flower. Collect seed when white fluffs form from the flowerheads. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.
