California Poppy Mix

$7.00

Eschscholtzia californica

Days to Maturity: 50

California Poppy Mix fills gardens with hundreds of blooms in warm colors—yellow, orange, red, cream, pink and white. These easy-to-grow wildflowers reach 12–18 inches tall and bloom from spring through fall, creating colorful meadow-like displays that attract pollinators and make lovely cut flowers. Drought tolerant and low maintenance once established, they thrive in full sun and poor, well-drained soils and even rocky places in your landscape.

Planting Instructions: Start California Poppy Mix indoors 3-5 weeks before last frost and transplant outdoors in spring up to a month before last frost; or sow poppy seeds directly in the ground outside in fall or early spring. Sprinkle onto bare soil and moisten to germinate (no need to cold stratify these poppy seeds). Make sure poppy seeds are exposed to light to germinate. Thin to 6-12" apart.

Seed Saving Instructions: Allow California Poppy Mix flowers to dry and wait until seed pods are brown and crispy. Snap seed pods into bucket, and break open to dislodge seeds. Store in a cool, dark and dry place.

Approx 200 California Poppy Mix seeds per packet
