Pink, sweet flesh with abundant seeds you can save and plant for generations to come. Drought tolerant, desert-adapted watermelons only need minimal water! Original seeds sourced from Native Seeds/SEARCH and a few different batches from Hopiland.
Planting Instructions: Start Pueblo Watermelon seeds indoors 3-5 weeks before last spring frost and transplant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed. Or sow directly in the ground in well-draining mounds or rows (3 seeds/mound with mounds spaced 5 feet apart, or seeds spaced 12" apart in rows). Do not overwater.
Seed Saving Instructions: Choose fully ripe, tasty fruits for seed saving. Fully ripe fruits will thud (echo slightly) when knocked. Dry seeds on a screen or cloth. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.
