Clary Sage

$6.00

Salvia sclarea

Biennial flower, herb & culinary seed; flowers & produces seed in 2nd year after planting

Clary Sage is a fragrant, pollinator-friendly perennial wildflower. This Clary Sage seed has been adapted to the Rocky Mountains for 10+ years. Incredibly fragrant, purple flowers are often distilled to make a medicinal essential oil. The flowers are a favorite of bees and other pollinators--especially bumble bees! Seeds are gelatinous when soaked in water like chia, and can be eaten in pudding, oatmeal, pancakes, smoothies and anywhere else you may use chia. Unlike chia, Clary Sage seeds have a delicate floral taste-- absolutely delicious.

Planting Instructions: Sow Clary Sage seed 1/2" deep, 3-6" apart in spring after all danger of frost has passed. Or start seed indoors 3-4 weeks before last frost. Flowers in the second year and returns year after year.

Seed Saving Instructions: Allow Clary Sage flowers to fully dry and crumble seed into bucket, or cut entire seedheads. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry place.

Approximately 50 Clary Sage seeds per packet
