Raphanus sativus
Days to Maturity: 25
Champion Radish is a true champion-- it stays crisp all the way through even when it grows large, unlike other radishes that get pithy; AND its flavor is mild and sweet, unlike other radishes with a hot & strong bite. A classic round, sweet, cherry bell-type radish. They also grow FAST, reaching maturity in less than 4 weeks! Beautiful scarlet colored peel with firm interior white flesh. Since Champion Radish matures so quickly, try intercropping or succession planting these with later-maturing veggies such as broccoli, cabbage, or cucumbers.
Planting Instructions: In spring & late summer when soil temp is at least 40 degrees, plant 3-6" apart at a depth of 3x the size of the seed. Thin to 5-6" apart. So easy to grow!
Seed Saving Instructions: Allow plants to bolt and go to seed. Harvest when seed pods are fully brown and dried.
