Glory of Moldova tomatoes are rare heirlooms that made the BEST tomato soup we have ever tasted, with a buttery rich flavor. They are super prolific producers. Also delicious raw and in tomato sauce. Great for canning. Needs a cage or support. Start indoors 4-8 weeks before last frost.
We are grateful to have received these seeds from High Desert Seed + Gardens.
Planting Instructions: Start Glory of Moldova tomato seeds indoors under grow lights or in a greenhouse 6-10 weeks before last frost. Transplant 2+ weeks after last frost when soil has warmed a bit. Space plants at least 4 feet apart. Support growth with tomato cages, a trellis or wire. Water regularly but avoid overwatering (soil should be moist but not wet).
Seed Saving Instructions: When fully ripe, pick your tastiest fruits from the most vigorous plants. Cut open and squeeze seeds and juice into a jar. Secure a cloth over the jar so air can enter. Ferment the juice and seeds in the jar for 2-3 days. Then strain and rinse the seeds. Dry on a screen or cloth. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.
